Arizona vs. Nevada: Talking with Mountain West Connection's Brandon Blake about the Wolfpack

We've got a few questions about the Wolfpack and Brandon has a few answers.

This week, we asked Mountain West Connection's Brandon Blake a few questions about the Nevada Wolf Pack and their upcoming match-up with the Arizona Wildcats. Here are those questions and answers:

1. Last year, quarterback Cody Fajardo was predictably excellent against Arizona. What do you expect to see out of his replacement, Tyler Stewart?

Brandon Blake: I see Stewart having a similar type performance that he had against UC-Davis. Nevada will be leaning on their running game to set up play-action. With that game plan, that will create some high percentage throws for Stewart.

2. What players on Nevada should Arizona fans watch out for?

Brandon Blake: Watch out for running back Don Jackson. Against UC Davis, Jackson was fantastic as he ran for 124 yards on 13 rushing attempts and scored two touchdowns. Also, James Butler is another fine running back for Nevada. Hassan Henderson is a wide receiver who is a big target at 6-5 220 lbs and tight end Jarred Gipson is a nice red zone target too. Jerico Richardson had a nice game against UC Davis as well.

3. Do you think the absence of Scooby Wright will affect how Nevada’s offense attacks Arizona’s defense?

Brandon Blake: I don't think it will affect it at all. I think Nevada was going to establish the run and set Tyler Stewart up for some play action to attack Arizona's secondary. So even with Wright out for this game I do not see the game plan changing all that much.

4. What is your prediction for the game?

Brandon Blake: I think this game will be close like the previous meetings in 2012 and 2014. This will be a shootout because I think both of these offenses can score points on these defenses. The Wolf Pack defensive line had some problems with the UC Davis offensive line last week. I will take the Wolf Pack in an upset 45-42.
