Steve Kerr, Andre Iguodala, and Luke Walton are headed to the NBA Finals
Past, present, and future. It's a player's program.
The Arizona-heavy Golden State Warriors are advancing to the NBA Finals after defeating the Houston Rockets 104-90 in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. They will face LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It has been a remarkable year for Steve Kerr and his Warriors team. After winning 67 games in the regular season and storming through the Western Conference playoffs with relative ease, they are making their first NBA Finals appearance since 1975. Quite an impressive feat for a rookie head coach.
Aside from Kerr, the Warriors' season has largely come to be because of former Wildcat Andre Iguodala. He has provided lockdown defense and an offensive punch off the bench for Golden State all season long. His toughest task is yet to come though, as he'll likely be asked to guard LeBron in the Finals for significant periods of time, and his success doing so could be a key factor in bringing the Larry O'Brien trophy to the Bay Area.
Oh yeah, we can't forget Luke Walton too. He'll have a shot to win his third NBA title, though this would be his first as a non-player.
Bear down.
