Arizona defensive lineman Dan Pettinato signs with Houston Texans as undrafted free agent

The Texans bringing in another Arizona prospect

Former Arizona Wildcats defensive lineman Dan Pettinato has signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent.

Pettinato will join ASU wide receiver Jaylen Strong in Houston, as the Texans drafted him in the third round.

In 14 games in 2015, Pettinato racked up 45 total tackles (4.5 for loss), four sacks, two forced fumbles, and this touchdown against Utah.

He was clearly a better player his senior year compared to his previous seasons at Arizona. He was arguably the main reason that the Wildcats' defensive line started to see some success in 2015, along with the linebackers (mainly Scooby Wright III).

If anything, going to the Texans will be a valuable learning experience, as he'll get to watch guys like J.J. Watt, Vince Wilfork and Jadeveon Clowney. It'll make it tough for Pettinato to make the squad though competing with proven guys like that.
