The Territorial Cup is one of the longest-running rivalries in college football, and the trophy itself is arguably the oldest in the sport. Regardless of the records, the games tend to always be thrilling, hard-fought and often close.

This year could be the exception, if Vegas’ initial point spread is any indication.

The Arizona Wildcats are listed as a 12.5-point underdog for Saturday’s finale against the Arizona State Sun Devils in Tempe, per VegasInsider.com.

If that holds, it will be the largest spread in the series in 11 years. In 2008 the UA was a 12.5-point home favorite against ASU in a game it won 31-10, and 2004 was the last time the Wildcats were larger underdogs against the Sun Devils.

Arizona (4-7, 2-6 Pac-12) is on a six-game losing streak, its longest in three years, and has scored 13 points in its last two contests. ASU (6-5, 3-5) had dropped four in a row before upsetting Oregon at home on Saturday.

ASU has won the last two Territorial Cup matchups, including last year when it rallied from 19 points down in the fourth quarter to win 41-40 in Tucson. Arizona hasn’t won at Sun Devil Stadium since 2011, losing the last three games there by an average of 21.3 points.
