Night kickoff scheduled for Arizona’s Pac-12 opener vs. UCLA

At least Arizona fans are used to this, whether they like it or not.

The Wildcats’ 2019 Pac-12 Conference opener against the UCLA Bruins on Saturday, Sept. 28 has been set for a 7:30 p.m. PT kickoff, the league officially announced Monday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

This will mark the fourth consecutive night kickoff to start this season and 11^th time in the last 12 games Arizona’s game will begin at 7 p.m. local time or later. The only exception was last year’s Territorial Cup in Tucson, which kicked off at 1:30 p.m.

Night kickoffs in Tucson are almost a guarantee in September and much of October, meaning Arizona’s only potential daytime home games are Nov. 2 vs. Oregon State (which is Homecoming) and Nov. 23 vs. Utah.

The Wildcats’ first Pac-12 road game, Oct. 5 at Colorado, has a good chance for a daylight start.
