It capped a stellar game for the Tucson native, who had three hits, including the game-tying RBI single in the sixth. His two-run homer was the second long ball of his major-league career.
The 28-year-old was called up by the Padres in the month, his first time in the Big Leagues after 914 games in the minor leagues.
Mejias-Brean was a member of Arizona’s 2012 national championship team, before being selected in the eighth round of the 2012 MLB Draft.
