Haley Moore clutch again as Arizona women’s golf beats USC to advance to NCAA semifinals
The legend of Haley Moore continues.
A year after sinking the national-championship-sealing putt, the senior drilled a birdie putt on 18 on Tuesday to lift the Arizona Wildcats past No. 1 USC and into the NCAA semifinals.
By making the putt, Moore beat USC’s Gabriela Ruffels by a stroke and broke a 2-2 tie in match play.

The defending champs will face No. 2 Duke or No. 7 Stanford in the semifinals on Wednesday morning. The event is being held at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Bianca Pagdanganan beat Jennifer Chang and Ya Chun Chang beat Amelia Garvey, while Yu-Sang Hou lost to Malia Nam and Sandra Nordaas fell to Alyaa Abulghany to set up a winner-takes-all scenario between Moore and Ruffels.
Arizona coach Laura Ianello was in tears during Moore’s postmatch interview on Golf Channel, saying Moore deserves every bit of the success she is having.
Not only is Moore a hard worker, she overcame bullying too:
Haley Moore's story is more than just sinking the winning putt to secure @ArizonaWGolf's 2018 #NCAAGolf title.
