Report: Luke Walton sued for sexual assault

A report from TMZ revealed that new Sacramento Kings coach Luke Walton is under investigation for sexual assault at a hotel in April 2016, while he was an assistant for the Golden State Warriors.

According to a lawsuit filed by Kelli Tennant, per TMZ, Walton allegedly forced himself on top of Tennant when she went to his hotel room when she went to return a copy of a book she had published.

From TMZ:

In the docs, Tennant claims Walton then began forcing kisses on her neck, face and chest. She claims she screamed for him to stop and tried to free herself, but he held her down, groped her breasts and groin, and rubbed his erection on her leg.

She says he eventually relented and let her get up from the bed, but as she was walking towards the door to leave he grabbed her from behind and again forced his body up against hers.

Tennant claims when Walton finally released his grasp, she opened the door and left, but could hear him say, “Good to see you.”

Tennant did not initially report the assault but had a continuing working relationship with Walton. She also alleges that Walton repeatedly made unwanted sexual and other inappropriate advances on her whenever they saw each other after the incident.

The Kings released a statement to TMZ, saying, “We are aware of the report and are gathering additional information. We have no further comment at this time.”

Walton, who just finished a three-year stint as the Los Angeles Lakers head coach, played for Arizona from 1999-2003 under Lute Olson.

He was a second round pick in the 2003 NBA Draft after twice earning All-Pac-10 honors.
