The legend continues: Nick Foles leads Eagles to playoff win at Bears

Saint Nick did it again.

Former Arizona Wildcats star Nick Foles threw a game-winning touchdown pass to Golden Tate with 56 seconds left to give the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles a 16-15 win at the Chicago Bears on Sunday in the NFC Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs.

Foles was 6 for 9 for 59 yards on the final drive, connecting with Tate on a two-yard pass on 4th-and-goal to complete the rally. For the game he was 25 of 40 for 266 yards and two TDs but also two interceptions, both in the first half, as the Eagles railed 6-3 at the break.

The Bears had a chance to win at the end but a 43-yard field goal attempt by Cody Parkey doinked off the left post and the crossbar.

Philadelphia now moves on the divisional round where it will play at the New Orleans Saints on Sunday.

Foles is now 4-1 as a starter in the playoffs, the other three wins coming last year when in relief of an injured Carson Wentz he threw for 971 yards and six TDs in wins over the Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings and then the New England Patriots in Super Bowl II. Foles earned MVP honors after throwing for 373 yards and three TDs against the Patriots.

Foles started the first two games of the 2018 season before Wentz re-took the starting job, but another Wentz injury in early December forced Foles back into action. He started the final three regular-season games, winning each, to help the Eagles earn the No. 6 seed in the NFC playoffs.
