Colorado vs. Arizona score predictions

Will the Wildcats beat the Buffaloes under the Friday night lights?

The Arizona Wildcats (4-5, 3-3) and Colorado Buffaloes (5-3, 2-3) will take the field at Arizona Stadium under the Friday night lights coming off two very different weeks.

Arizona routed Oregon in a surprising upset while Colorado shockingly blew a 31-3 lead to the lowly Oregon State Beavers, before falling in overtime for its third straight loss.

Will Colorado get back to winning ways? Can Arizona prove the Oregon game wasn’t a fluke? Here are our score predictions for Friday’s game. Be sure to leave your predictions in the comment section below.

Brian J. Pedersen — Arizona wins 26-20

If ever there’s a time when Arizona has to carry over the momentum it had from its previous game, this is it. It’s a short week, albeit one where the Wildcats didn’t have to do any traveling, and they’re getting a Colorado team that’s got to be smacking itself in the head for blowing a 31-3 lead to lowly Oregon State. If Arizona wants any chance of playing in a bowl game—Cheez-It Bowl, baby!!!!—it has to win this game, so expect the Wildcats to play with urgency.

Christopher Boan — Colorado wins 31-24

I was dead wrong last week, as was everyone else, but I have a feeling that the Wildcats are in for a rough night against CU on Friday night. The Buffs have Laviska Shenault Jr., who is finally at 100 percent after a toe injury, and QB Steven Montez is a pretty damn good QB when he’s feeling 100 percent. I think the Buffs will sneak out of Tucson with a hard-fought victory on Friday night, but have close to zero percent confidence that my prediction will be correct.

Brandon Combs — Arizona wins 35-21

This is going to be an interesting game.

It’s another Friday night game but this time Arizona is at home, so it should favor the ‘Cats. Not to mention that I feel that Arizona found itself last weekend. They showed what they can do when they play a full four quarters.

Throw in Colorado’s current skid, Shenault’s uncertainty, an epic self-destruction last week, and a night game on the road after a short week and things are not looking good for the Buffs.

Zant Reyez — Arizona wins 35-30

Talk about a toss-up game. Which Arizona team will take the field? The team we saw against the Ducks or the one against Utah? What Colorado team shows up? The team from the beginning of the season or the one that choked against Oregon State?

I’ll be on the positive side and say we see the ‘Cats team we saw against Oregon. Let’s see if UA can string together solid play in its final games.

Gabe Encinas — Arizona wins 34-27

I’m feeling real good entering this week coming off that huge Oregon upset.

Colorado started 5-0, has now lost three games in a row, and are coming off a really bad loss to Oregon State at home after leading 31-3 early in the third. Now they have a short week and travel to Tucson after Arizona just smacked Oregon six days ago.

I think it will be a competitive game, kind of like the Cal game, but Arizona’s offense will be functioning this time.

Ryan Kelapire — Arizona wins 35-27

If Shenault plays, I think Colorado wins. If he doesn’t, Arizona wins. That’s how much of an impact he has on the Buffs’ offense. (Plus, I don’t think UA’s defense has an answer for him.)

I’m still not really sure what to think about Arizona’s win over Oregon. On one hand, Arizona dominated in every facet of the game against a ranked team. On the other hand, Oregon may very well just have played a terrible game and the Wildcats happened to reap the benefits.

And as others have already mentioned, will Arizona get to face the Colorado team that led Oregon State 31-3 or the one that blew a massive lead and lost in overtime?

This is one of those games where I wouldn’t be surprised by any outcome. The Wildcats could blow out the Buffs just as easily as they could lose by three touchdowns, in my opinion. Both these teams are that volatile.

But Arizona is playing at home and coming off a big win, so I’ll take them over the team that has lost three straight and has to travel on a short week.
