PFF: Arizona’s Shawn Poindexter is a Top-5 receiver in college football
The Arizona Wildcats’ receiving corps has been one of the team’s strongest units this season, and Shawn Poindexter has been leading the way.
Now he’s getting some national recognition.
Pro Football Focus released their five highest-graded receivers of the season so far, and Poindexter checks in at No. 5, with an 87.4 grade.

Poindexter has 16 receptions on the year for 369 yards and two touchdowns, all team-highs. He is on track to be Arizona’s first 1,000-yard receiver since Cayleb Jones in 2014.
In 2017, Poindexter finished the year with 19 receptions for 294 yards and one score, meaning he’s already surpassed most of his stats from last season.
Fellow Pac-12 receivers JJ Arcega-Whiteside and Laviska Shenault Jr. also made the list at third and fourth, respectively. It seems the Conference of Champions is becoming the Conference of Receivers as well.
Poindexter and the Wildcats face the USC Trojans in Tucson on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. MST. The game will air on ESPN2.
