Deandre Ayton envisions playing for Phoenix Suns

The big man thinks he and Devin Booker could be Shaq and Kobe 2.0

One reason why Deandre Ayton chose to spend his one and only college season at the University of Arizona was because of its proximity to Phoenix where Ayton attended high school and his mother resides.

Well, apparently Ayton wouldn’t mind starting his NBA career in Arizona, either.

The big man said on CBS Sports Radio that he could “see myself in Phoenix” and that he believes him and Phoenix Suns star guard Devin Booker could be “a little Shaq and Kobe 2.0.”

Ayton, who is widely projected to be the top pick in June’s NBA Draft, may very well get his wish, too.

The Suns (19-58) currently have the worst record in the NBA, and if they finish with it — they have a 2.5-game lead on the team with the second-worst record — they would have a 25 percent chance of landing the No. 1 pick, and a 64.2 percent chance of landing a top-3 pick.
