Arizona DB Dane Cruikshank invited to 2018 NFL Combine

The Wildcats defensive leader has been invited to the Combine

Arizona Wildcats senior defensive back Dane Cruikshank has been invited to the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, he announced Sunday on Twitter.

The event takes place from March 2 to March 5. Cruikshank will work out on March 5 with the rest of the defensive backs.

Cruikshank likely projects as a late-round pick or an undrafted free agent, so the Combine is a great chance for him to raise his stock before April’s draft.

Last year, 330 players attended the Combine, while 253 were drafted.

Cruikshank, who moved from cornerback to safety this season, was one of the best players on an Arizona defense that didn’t perform particularly well throughout the year.

In two seasons in Tucson, Cruikshank recorded 134 tackles, five interceptions, and a forced fumble. He played in every game of the 2016 and 2017 season for the Wildcats after spending two seasons at Citrus College in Glendora, California.

He redshirted in 2015.

Arizona did not send a single player to the Combine in 2017. We’ll see if any others will be invited along with Cruikshank. Running back Nick Wilson and guard Jacob Alsadek seem to be two viable candidates.

Alsadek and Cruikshank are both slated to play in the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 20 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
