Jacob Alsadek makes PFF’s All-Pac-12 First Team

The redshirt senior was the top right guard in the conference

Nobody manned the right guard position better in the Pac-12 than Jacob Alsadek this season.

The Arizona Wildcats’ redshirt senior was the highest-rated right guard in the conference, according to the experts at Pro Football Focus.

Alsadek received an 86.4 grade, making him the fourth-best lineman in the Pac-12. How are the grades determined? PFF analysts grade every play Alsadek participated in on a -2 to 2 scale, then standardize the score to a 0-100 scale.

Since linemen don’t accumulate any stats, PFF grades are a great way to evaluate their actual effectiveness.

Here is PFF’s full All-Pac-12 First Team:

Alsadek started in every game for Arizona this season, helping lead the nation’s No. 3 rushing attack.

Surprisingly, Alsadek (or any other Wildcat) was not officially named to the Pac-12 All-First or Second Team by the conference. He only received an honorable mention.

Arizona will sorely miss Alsadek next season, to be sure. Not just because he is one of the conference’s top linemen and one of four starting o-linemen set to graduate, but also because of his leadership — especially since the program will have a new coach at that position next year.

Alsadek will take the field one last time as a Wildcat on Dec. 27 when Arizona faces Purdue in the Foster Farms Bowl.
