Will the Wildcats keep the Territorial Cup?

It’s rivalry week!

The Arizona Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils are set to do battle Saturday at 2:30 p.m. MST in Tempe.

Arizona enters as slight favorites in a game that’s expected to be a high-scoring affair. Will Arizona keep the Territorial Cup or will the Sun Devils take it back?

Jason Bartel — Arizona wins 41-38

Bye Toddy G....you’ll be missed.

Robby Leano — Arizona wins 45-35

Arizona’s going to rebound after last week. Tate can’t be stopped for two games in a row.

Brandon Combs — Arizona wins 56-28

Arizona was embarrassed last week and that will not sit well with this team. There is no way they will want ASU to beat them and will be focused, more-so than last week. ASU does not have the athletes to contain Tate or the running attack.

Ryan Kelapire — ASU wins 45-38

As usual, this game will come down to how Arizona’s offense plays. The Wildcats haven’t been able to do much of anything defensively the last several weeks, and now the d-line is ravaged by injuries. So ASU should have no trouble moving the ball. And really neither should Arizona since ASU’s defense is equally awful.

Territorial Cup games are always wacky, but I tend to give the advantage to the home team (the home team has won the last four matchups), thus I’m going with the Sun Devils (I hate myself for this).

But if Tate plays like he did during UA’s four-game winning streak, Arizona will keep the cup.

Christopher Boan — Arizona wins 45-21

ASU’s pass and rushing defense are god awful, and Arizona’s going to be mighty angry after collapsing against Oregon. I wonder how hard the Devils are going to play for Todd Graham, given the rumor mill surrounding whether or not the boosters in Tempe have already filled out paperwork to remove the visor-wearing despotic skipper. It all adds up to a long day for the Devils, and a new coach along the mistake of a lake in Tempe come next fall.

Alec Sills-Trausch — Arizona wins 38-27

If anyone tells you they know what will happen Saturday, don't believe them because in this rivalry, anything is possible (see 2016 with no second half pass attempts). I'm banking on Khalil Tate continuing to be Arizona's sparkplug. If he gets going the ‘Cats will win. If he goes the way of last week, it could be a long day in Tempe. So buckle up, gather the friends, and enjoy the game.

Gabe Encinas — ASU wins 42-28

I just think Arizona’s defense, particularly rushing defense, is going to open this up for ASU. This team was high and on the rise just a few weeks ago, but has come back down to life a bit in November.

Khalil Tate has kind of been slowed down, and the defense has just been a huge liability all season against some of the better backfields.

I don’t think Oregon is a great football team, and the concern from last week carries over. I also don’t like Arizona playing in Tempe.

Although anything can happen, I just don’t think Arizona comes away with this one.
