The 6-foot-2, 305-pound big man from Calabasas High School (Calabasas, Calif.) is the No. 38 defensive tackle in the nation, according to 247Sports.
He becomes the 10th member of UA's 2018 class.
Irving picked up his offer from the Wildcats in late July, and his only other offer was from UCLA.
Still, it's a really good pickup for the ‘Cats.
Irving has great size and immense power. He is really good about getting into the backfield to either blow up plays or inconvenience the quarterback. He does need to work a little on lowering his pad level and not go at the offensive line as upright as he does.
Last year, Irving played for Chaminade College Prep before transferring to Calabasas. He recorded 28 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, a sack, and a pass breakup during his junior campaign with the Eagles.
