Oregon forward Chris Boucher suffers season-ending ACL tear

A huge blow to the Ducks

The Oregon Ducks and Arizona Wildcats are set to face-off for the Pac-12 Tournament crown on Saturday night, but Oregon will be without one of its best players.

ScoopDuck is reporting that star forward Chris Boucher has suffered a season-ending ACL tear, which will obviously keep him out of their contest against Arizona.

Boucher averaged 11.8 points and 6.1 rebounds per game this year. In the Ducks’ dominating win over the Wildcats earlier this year, Boucher scored 12 points and brought in four rebounds. He also blocked a couple of shots.

This injury is not only huge for Saturday’s game, but for Oregon’s hopes moving forward into the NCAA Tournament next week. You also wonder if they have a poor showing against Arizona if it will impact their potential seeding in any way with the committee getting just one look at this team without Boucher.

He did miss two games earlier in the year, which happened to be wins over Mountain West foes Fresno State and UNLV.

Arizona and Oregon are scheduled to tip-off at 8 PM PT in Las Vegas. The game will be shown on ESPN.
