Arizona football recruiting: K’Hari Lane officially signs with Wildcats
There are now two quarterbacks in the 2017 recruiting class
For the longest time, the Arizona Wildcats were slated to bring in two scholarship quarterbacks in 2017.
Braxton Burmeister bailed for the Oregon Ducks, leaving Rhett Rodriguez as the lone 2017 quarterback coming into the team.
This left Arizona scrambling, but now they have officially added K’Hari Lane, a now-composite three-star pro-style quarterback from Macon High School in Montezuma, Georgia.
Congrats to @2kharilane for signing NLI to play for the Unversity of Arizona @AZATHLETICS .Wishing much success #gotthatdawginmerecruit http://pic.twitter.com/sd401KkmuE

Lane visited Tucson two weeks ago for the team’s first spring practice, and committed later on in the weekend. He has now signed his National Letter of Intent.
This recruit has captured the attention of some writers by putting up a stunning TD:INT ratio in his senior year, yet didn’t field an offer from an FBS team until Arizona came calling. His lone scholarship offer before Arizona jumped in was from Grambling State, the FCS team that almost took down the Wildcats in 2016.
The Red Rifle, as he’s known, finished his final high school season with 56 TDs and 2 INTs. Lane completed 199 of his 319 pass attempts, compiling 3,740 yards in the process, an average of 267 per game. He also ran the ball 65 times for 290 yards and eight touchdowns.
Arizona has two scholarship quarterbacks remaining from last year’s team in the form of Brandon Dawkins and Khalil Tate. Throughout spring, Rich Rodriguez has lamented that the team is not throwing the ball well enough, so things could get interesting this fall with both Lane and Rhett Rodriguez putting pressure on a group of quarterbacks that hasn’t really impressed the coaching staff to this point.
Certainly the numbers put up by Lane are impressive. But will he be able to translate that at the college level?
