Sonoran Hot Reads: Paul Magloire’s draft stock continues to improve

Even with no Combine invite, Magloire is gaining tons of attention

Former Arizona Wildcats linebacker Paul Magloire Jr. was not one of 330 players invited to the NFL Combine, yet his draft stock seems to be taking off. Sports Illustrated’s Chris Burke is the most recent one to profile Magloire as part of his “Draft this Dude” series. He breaks down some of Magloire’s tape, and explains that he could fit in both a 3-4 defense and in a 4-3 base. The thing that I found interesting was breaking down the weaknesses in Magloire’s game, and how he’ll have to fix those to succeed at the next level

- Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller has Magloire as his second-biggest Combine snub, and says that he has the Arizona linebacker just outside of his top 100 overall players. There’s also this interview Magloire did with our Jacksonville Jaguars sister site Big Cat Country

- Arizona begins spring practice on Saturday short two assistant coaches. Apparently RichRod will be coaching the WRs himself until he finds the permanent replacement for Tony Dews. Calvin Magee is taking on the tight ends

- 2017 QB K’Hari Lane is visiting Arizona this weekend. The fact that he doesn’t have any FBS offers despite having a 50:1 TD:INT ratio is extremely intriguing

- Mark Wasikowski won his first game as Purdue head coach with the Boilermakers taking down Texas State 9-3

Softball

- The Wildcats beat Drake on Thursday and stayed undefeated with a pair of wins on Friday against Abilene Christian and Ball State
