Lucas Havrisik to Arizona: Five-star kicker signs with Wildcats

Arizona is looking to change things up on special teams

Arizona Wildcats special teams coach Charlie Ragle is looking to make some big changes in that area, adding his second scholarship kicker to the roster in Lucas Havrisik, 6-foot-2, 170-pound kicker out of Norco High School (Norco, CA).

Havrisik is a five-star kicker according to Chris Sailer Kicking and ranked No. 10 overall in the class of 2017. He is currently a three-star prospect according to 247Sports, ranked No. 12 in the nation.

He’s a three sport athlete at Norco High, playing football, soccer, and volleyball.

At Norco High, Havrisik went 11/16 on field goals, with longs of 43, 44, 47, 48, and two from 51 yards out. He punted 40 times for 1,591 yards, averaging just under 40 yards a boot. He kicked off 87 times, forcing a touchback on 82 of those instances.

The place kicking job seems to be up for grabs. Edgar Gastelum, a walk-on from Arizona Western, was in charge of kickoff, but was later dismissed from the team. Havrisik will be able to compete with redshirt junior Josh Pollack for field goal duties as well.
