Arizona adds Southern Utah to 2018 non-conference football schedule

Gotta get that Big Sky team in there

The Arizona Wildcats have now finished up their 2018 non-conference schedule by adding the Southern Utah Thunderbirds to the three-game slate.

FBSchedules reported it, citing Arizona’s official website. There was no press release for this schedule addition from either school.

This means that Arizona will play a Big Sky team in each of the next four seasons. The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks come to Tucson in 2017 and 2019, and the Portland State Vikings make the trip to Arizona Stadium in 2020.

Southern Utah will be the second school from the state that Arizona hosts in 2018. The BYU Cougars will open the season in Tucson on September 1st, 2018. The Wildcats then travel to Houston to take on those Cougars in week two, then host SUU.

The next four years of non-conference schedules for Arizona follow a very interesting theme. Each of them have a Big Sky team, a higher-end Texas program (Houston and Texas Tech), then another western program (UTEP, BYU, Hawaii).

In 2018, Arizona’s Pac-12 schedule will include home games against ASU, Cal, Colorado, Oregon, and USC. They will play road games at Oregon State, UCLA, Utah, and Washington State.
