Sonoran Hot Reads: Rich Rodriguez’s father passes away

Condolences go out to the Rodriguez family

On Tuesday morning, Arizona Wildcats head coach Rich Rodriguez made a rare appearance on Twitter, but it was not a good one. He thanked everyone for sending their thoughts to the Rodriguez family after his father Vince passed away. Anthony Gimino went back and found some quotes from the past few years Rich had of his dad, including this gem after Vince underwent quadruple bypass surgery

“By the time, I got there he was already tubed up and had the surgery. When they took (the breathing tube) out, he said to me, ‘If they didn’t have me tied down, I would have taken that damn tube and ripped it out.’”

- USF is pretty good when Michael Bibby starts for them

- Would you regret only having one point guard if you were Sean Miller? Well, he doesn’t. He also thought the non-conference schedule was good, which he has to, but it could have been worse

Baseball

- Collegiate Baseball released their preseason rankings, and Arizona finds itself in 7th. Defending champ Coastal Carolina is 19th

- Angelswin.com has Zach Gibbons as the Angels’ 27th-best prospect. That’s a great picture they used of him too (I took it)
