Sonoran Hot Reads: Five-star point guard Trevon Duval sticks it to UCLA

Cold blooded

Five-star point guard Trevon Duval, the consensus 5th-best player in the 2017 class, recently put out a top ten, and it seemed to have been influenced by Under Armour. Arizona was on it though. Then Sunday afternoon rolled around, and one Under Armour school bit the dust on his list in pretty hilarious fashion

The Crystal Ball predictions for Duval were at 88% UCLA. So now no one has any idea about anything with the top point guard in next year’s class

Football

- Make sure to get your votes in for this week’s Reader Pac-12 Power Rankings. It’ll probably be difficult because as a whole, the conference was garbage

- This is old, but Arizona has a commitment from 2018 RHP Conner Thurman. He earned a 9.5/10 rating from Perfect Game this summer

Other sports

- Soccer capped a perfect weekend in Tempe with a 2-0 win over Columbia

- Volleyball finished off a perfect weekend by sweeping Pepperdine

- Women’s cross country finished third, and the men’s team was fourth at a meet in Flagstaff

Tucson news

- A man died in a dirt bike crash

- A local church is concerned about the amount of synthetic marijuana addiction in its neighborhood
