Arizona football: Wildcats to honor Zach Hemmila with helmet stickers and hat patches

And there will be at least one pre-game ceremony as well

It's no secret that the Arizona Wildcats are planning to honor Zach Hemmila this season, and on Wednesday part of the program's plan to do so was revealed.

"We're going to have stickers on our helmets and patches on the coaches' hats," Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez said after practice.

Rodriguez said there will also be a pre-game ceremony of some sort before the season opener versus BYU at University of Phoenix Stadium, and possibly another one before Arizona's home opener against Grambling State the following week as well.

The team has made an effort to keep Hemmila a part of the program — such as the offensive line still putting their scouting sheets at his locker — and the helmet stickers and hat patches will surely do that.

Hemmila, who was competing to be Arizona's starting center, was found dead in his apartment on August 8.

The cause of his death is unknown.
