Sonoran Hot Reads: Villanova wins National Championship on buzzer-beater

Yay Wildcats!!

The Villanova Wildcats won one for all of us Wildcats out there in what is most likely the best finish in the history of a National Championship game. After Marcus Paige hit a ridiculous three to tie the game with five seconds left, Kris Jenkins did an even more ridiculous thing to win the game at the buzzer for Villanova. The most ridiculous thing though? Jay Wright's "reaction" when the ball went in:

Baseball

- The Wildcats picked up a very important road win against BYU

- Joey Rickard is doing all kinds of amazing things. He picked up his first career hit in his first career MLB at bat, and is the first Rule Five Draft guy to be on the Orioles' Opening Day roster the year after going through that process

- After getting swept by Utah, Arizona found itself on D1Baseball's Ouch List

Softball

- Washington took the series with a 5-1 win on Monday night

Other sports

- All-time leading scorer Adia Barnes was named the new women's basketball head coach a day after losing in the Final Four as an assistant at Washington. We know one other name in the mix was Florida Gulf Coast head coach Karl Smesko
