UTSA vs. Arizona: Samajie Grant, Tellas Jones and Anthony Fotu out for violation of team rules

Two starters and a backup defensive lineman out for the opener

Rich Rodriguez has sat down three players for a violation of team rules. Samajie Grant, Tellas Jones and Anthony Fotu are all not dressed for the Arizona Wildcats opener against the Texas-San Antonio Roadrunners per the team's SID.

This has an impact at several positions. At slot receiver, I would expect Johnny Jackson to start, with the potential of more Shun Brown than previously expected, and possibly even Cam Denson getting some run at receiver after taking reps on the offensive side of the ball this week.

At safety, Anthony Lopez and Paul Magloire are the most likely candidates to get more playing time with the absence of Tellas Jones. It could also mean more Carter Hehr in our lives.

Fotu is listed as Luca Bruno's backup at defensive tackle, so there's a little less depth there as well for this game.

We will find out after if Rich Rodriguez announces what the violations were.
