Arizona football injury report: Luca Bruno out for Wildcats with a concussion
The Arizona injury report keeps getting longer
We all know that the Arizona Wildcats are dealing with many injuries, but the list got a bit longer this week.
Here's the official injury report released by the school:
Probable: Derrick Turituri (groin)
Questionable: DeAndre' Miller (wrist)
Doubtful: None
Out: Luca Bruno (concussion), Haden Gregory (knee), Trey Griffey (foot), Tyrell Johnson (foot), Scooby Wright III (knee)
The surprise name on here is Luca Bruno, who has been starting at defensive tackle to start the season. His backup is listed as Anthony Fotu, but I wouldn't be surprised if that means Jeff Worthy plays a lot more, especially with how effective Worthy was at times last week against Nevada.
Haden Gregory (Scooby's replacement) is out 2-4 weeks with his knee injury. So him and Scooby could be coming back around the same time, or maybe Wright is back next week? Hopefully.
Trey Griffey and Tyrell Johnson have not yet been able to play this year with these foot injuries. At the beginning of the season, Rich Rodriguez said they would both be out "a couple of weeks" so it seems like that these guys could be back at any time.
Last week, DeAndre' Miller was listed as questionable, and did not play. So we'll see how that turns out. Turituri suffered his groin injury against UTSA, and reaggravated it against Nevada, but was still able to play through it. I would imagine that he'll play, just maybe not as much as he would if he were fully healthy. Tre Tyler will likely get the start at MLB, which seems crazy.
But hey, injuries are gonna happen I guess. Let's just hope this list is smaller next week when UCLA comes to town.
