2015 March Madness: Sunday's West Region Round-Up
Wisconsin/Oregon was the only remaining match-up in the West Region, and Wisconsin pulled it out late.
Wisconsin and Oregon were the only teams out of the West still playing Sunday. Here's our brief run-down of that game:
(1) Wisconsin 72, (8) Oregon 65
Man, this game was close. Oregon and Wisconsin were tied at 52 with about six minutes left, but Wisconsin pulled away late to beat Oregon. Sam Dekker led Wisconsin with 17 points, though Wisconsin had four players in double figures. For Oregon, Joseph Young had a quintessential Joseph Young game, scoring 30 points on 25 shots. Oregon didn't have much offense outside of Young, with Jalil Abudl-Bassit as the only other player in double figures.
As an Arizona fan, this game should make you feel much more confident in a potential match-up with Wisconsin. The Badgers had trouble putting away an Oregon team that Arizona destroyed on three separate occasions. That bodes well for Arizona's chances if Arizona can get past Xavier. Wisconsin, meanwhile, has to get past North Carolina, who they face in the Sweet 16 on Thursday.
